Pharmacology of Drugs of Abuse and Detoxification Medications

This workshop will cover drugs and of abuse and alcohol and medications used for detoxification.  We will discuss the treatment of addiction and mental and emotional disorder including the action of pharmaceutical and the physiological response, the interaction of pharmaceutical, tolerance and the appropriate use of psychotropic are with addicted persons.  Each drug will be covered in its entirety including: sign and symptoms of use and abuse, withdrawal symptoms, personality changes, physical appearance, social activity changes, specific cultural, age and gender features will also be covered for each substance.  Treatment and recovery methods will be explored for each substance.

Presenter: Martina S. Moore, MA, LICDC, CEAP, SAP

Martina Moore is a Counselor specializing in substance abuse, women’s issues, and marriage and family issues.  She is the President of Moore Counseling & Mediation Services, Inc.  This organization provides Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) to area businesses, professional trainings, facilitates counseling sessions, adolescent and adult substance abuse treatment, mediation services, and consultation services.

Each of our workshops have been approved for 6 or 12 CEU hours by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist Boards Provider #RCS030612, and for 6 or 12 RCH hours by the Chemical Dependency Professionals Board.

All workshops begin at 8:30 am and end at 4:30 pm.

Cancellation & Payment Policies:

You may cancel your registration any time up to 3 days before a workshop and receive a full refund. If you are unable to attend a workshop and cannot cancel prior to 3 days before the event you will receive a credit good at any future workshop. In the event that a workshop is cancelled by Moore Counseling due to inclement weather, health of the presenter, etc. you will receive a full refund or credit for a future workshop, whichever you desire.

Payment is desired before each workshop. At each workshop participants will receive a personal CEU form with their name on it signed by Moore Counseling. If you are using a Purchase Order and payment is not received prior to a workshop, or for some reason you are not able to pay for a workshop until after the event, you will not receive a CEU form until after payment is received.
